We ask you, the U:N. Commission on Human Rights, either to imply , demand or inquire if
the laws of governement are just, true and valid. If so, we have no work to do. We stand
on the treaties of 1868 and including prior invasion ofthe Sacred Turtle
Island and the treaties since 1492. The treaties are the law of the world . If treaties
were made by the Untited States of America, why aren't we, the Lakota, honored here in
Switzerland with a U.N. building?
We have copies ofthose same laws. We the Lakota Nation, honor the treaties between
sovereign nations. But you have given a seat to them here, why not to us, the Sovereign
Lakota Nation? Whom will you turn to, when the tables are turned? Think of the future.
Think of the truth. Human Rights can be taken in many ways. But only we can forgive.
Otherwise, you can never
trust a system in our nation, that does not obey its own Human Rights voice. We who walk
in the light of the Truth have only this to say. We must drop the negative bureaucratic
slug and push forward with the spiritual life of our children in mind. For unless -they
grow up mindless, they have too much mind and kill themselves through dispair over what
you allow to happen. This is the ultimate Human Rights violation and your children look to
men like me who carry the peace pipe and honor the good
ways of wisdom and truth. Right now, uranium mining is going to contaminate the Oglala
Aquifiers, which is recharged in the Sacred Paha Sapa. Mining in the Black Hills of South
Dakota is a treaty violation by multinational corporations who are taking the gold,
taconite and the uranium and contaminating the water of a five state area. This must stop
- all the people living in the reservation are getting poisoned by the mine-tailings. This
is a Human Rights violation, because they are lied to and made to believe that it's o.k.
in the name of economic development. But it's getting worse: now comes the disfigurement
of the unborn, trees, birds, four-legged those that burrow in the ground and also the
two-legged . All life gets disfigured just like the truth. This dispair is contagious. You
cannot stop it. But you allow it. This puts a cloud over our planet, mother earth. Let's
start to clear this obstruction and stand in the Light of the Truth.
Mitakuye Oyasin -
Wolakota, this means peace and love.
